Chris Thompson
Chris Thompson holds an extensive long-distance swimming career that includes US National titles, World championships, Olympic games, collegiate championships, and coaching experience. Starting in 1996, Chris won seven US National titles in the 1500 M and 800 M Freestyle. He competed in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney where he won the bronze medal for the 1500 meter Men’s Freestyle. Chris earned his Bachelors degree at the University of Michigan in 2002 and Masters degree at Eastern Michigan University in 2007. He was named a 9 time NCAA All American and 2 time Big Ten Swimmer of the Year.
In 2002, Chris began his widespread coaching career starting with the Ann Arbor Swim Club/Club Wolverine. He trained future Navy Seals at the Navy Special Warfare Prep School from 2008 to 2011. Currently, Chris resides in Michigan where he has been coaching the Plymouth Canton Cruisers since December 2011.
