WHAT: Even though Swim Across America is known as a swim event, its origin was running…..running across the country! Three men, best friends, one missing a leg from cancer, took eight months to run from Boston to Los Angeles to raise 1 million dollars for cancer research. Duplicating this feat was not practical and a few short years later, this original idea turned into a swim!
We're taking it back to it's roots and running to fight cancer here in Charlotte. The best part? You can control when you want to do it. Pick a run club night to dedicate to Swim Across America and we will provide the swag and fun!
Proceeds will support cancer research, clinical trials, & patient programs at the Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children's Hospital here in Charlotte. Grants from Swim Across America have directly led to breakthroughs in fighting cancer.
