Donate to my Page to Make Waves Against Cancer!
Hi! I’m Juliet Powell, a junior at Marist School. I have been in love with swimming since I was 5, when I started swimming year-round at Dynamo Swim Club. Since then, I have competed on Marist’s Varsity Swim Team and swam at my summer league pool Hampton Hall! I am proud to be a swim coach at Hampton Hall to share my love of swimming with others.
Swim Across America is an amazing organization that I am so lucky to be a part of! I started doing the open-water swim 2 years ago, after which I applied to be part of the Junior Advisory Board. Last year, I was an ambassador for the Board, and this year I am a board member. I am also a team captain for Marist’s Swim Across America team, so I plan fundraising events for the team and help organize/set up the open-water swim in September. This year at the open water swim, I will be swimming the 1 mile swim, and I’m so excited!
I swim to raise awareness for all those struggling with cancer and bring light to the initiatives that are going on to find cures! Cancer has impacted so many people in our community, and I am blessed to be able to fight to make waves against cancer and change lives with Swim Across America. The people I have met through this program have been some of the most welcoming and dedicated individuals, and I love working with them to organize events!
My fundraising goal for this year is to raise $1000. All of the money raised goes to the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Their focus is Leukemia research and clinical trials as well as medulloblastoma and osteosarcoma research. The funding benefits young investigators and their efforts to research-related therapies, drugs, and side effects.
I invite you to join my efforts in raising money for this life-saving research. You can support me by making a donation to my page at the link below, joining my team, or becoming a swimmer participant or a volunteer at the event on September 21, 2024.
Thank you so much for following my efforts and supporting me! I hope your week is going amazingly.
Thank you,
Juliet Powell
