Welcome to My Personal Page
I am happy to be able to join the Rock On Team for the ninth year to raise money to support research to find a cure for this devastating disease. The Rocks and Brass families were an amazing team in supporting Cristy, an inspiration to all.
Since I cannot make it to the Cheaspeake Bay Open Swim this year, I am participating with a virtual event.......a one day, two state mini Triathlon .
In fact I completed it last week in Metuchen NJ and Eagles Mere Pa. I started with a mile swim at the Y in Metuchen NJ. I then drove 3 hours to Eagles Mere Pa and I did a 24 mile bike ride ... 2000 feet ascent (not admitting to how long that took)..I topped off with a 2.38 mile walk around the lake ending at the Edgewood Cottage for approval from Peg and O'Ryan.
I dedicate this endeavor my sister in Maryland , my nephew in New Hampshire,my college roommate in Rhode Island, and to other relatives and friends who have been cared for at centers in Tucson, Boston, New York, Denver, Chapel Hill, Somerville NJ and Tampa. May the collaborative research efforts of all cancer centers finally conquer the “emperor of all maladies” .........Soon !
Here’s to a sunny and calm day ....................in the Chesapeake Bay !
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming in the Baltimore Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
