Welcome to Cagla's Swim Across America Page
On September 15, 2024, I will join the Swim Across America community by swimming one mile in the Chesapeake Bay to raise as much money as I can to fight cancer.
This cause is very close to my heart and I will be swimming in the memory of my mother, whom I lost to cancer at a young age and Tim Treadwell, a former patient of Johns Hopkins, who unfortunately passed away from stomach cancer after the first year we formed our swim team with his family in 2019.
The Swim Across America organization funded various cancer research projects and clinical trials over the years, and Johns Hopkins is one of its beneficiaries. Your donations made through my page will go towards The Swim Across America Laboratory and cancer research, prevention and treatment at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center here at Hopkins. The Lab has had significant achievements in the past years and you can view the timeline of achievements here.
If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal of $500.
Thank you for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer
