Welcome to My Personal Page
Cancer hasn't gone away. It's still here, and it did not take a break because of the pandemic.
In our lifetime, 40% of the population will be diagnosed with cancer. For my family, these statistics include my dad, an aunt, an uncle, and 3 grandfathers. My dad's battle is ongoing, and we are thankful for the advancements in treatment that have allowed him to be symptom free and stable for 9 years and counting. My story isn't unique; everyone knows someone affected by the disease. The good news is that effective treatments, and even cures, are attainable, but only if the research is well funded.
I started swimming for Swim Across America in 2015, but was a donor before that. I hope that you will continue to support me and my swim by donating to fight against cancer. Working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with basic research labs has taught me that it takes a lot of money to conduct the basic research that eventually leads to effective clinical treatments. More importantly, it has taught me that it is incredibly hard to secure that money. Money raised from the Boston swim goes directly to local Boston institutes, specifically MGH and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, to support such research.
I'm proud of the fact that this year I can once again do something more to support my family and friends against this disease, and hope you'll support me, in any form, a note, a virtual hug, a donation in ANY amount. Anything, small or large, makes a difference in the search for a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
