In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.  

I am swimming in honor of my mother, Maureen O'Connor who courageously battled metastatic melanoma.  She was diagnosed with melanoma back in 2012 and it reoccured in 2020.  She courageously fought this disease with surgery, radiation and immunotherapy but unfortunately the treatments were not effective.  She passed away in September of 2022.
