Founded in 1987 by my dad Matt Sr. and a band of his best college/highschool friends, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims all over the country with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care. 

As a volunteer, I have been involved with Swim Across America my whole life because I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope. I am excited that this will be my first time officially swimming in an event, stepping from the sidelines into the water.
