Welcome to My Personal Page
This year it's even more personal for me. My sister-in-law Beth Vossler was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and is being treated at Mass General. And like her sister Diane Legg, who was diagnosed with a similar form of lung cancer many years ago and continues her battle today, I'm dedicating my swim and fundraising efforts to these incredible, strong, and brave women.
I co-founded Swim Across America in 1987, and I'm excited to get back into Boston Harbor with my fellow Boston College Eagles! Our captain, Jack Salerno (BC '84) who has been with us since we started in Long Island Sound 34 years ago and is a fellow SAA Board member has done an amazing job recruiting many Eagles to our team including Jim Walker (BC '84) my BC roommate and lacrosse teammate - welcome back Jim!
Also significant this year - I'm beyond proud to say my son, Matt Vossler ( a volunteer since he was 5...) who serves on the SAA National Associate Board, will also be joining us in the chilly water!
Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that has led to breakthrough treatments and therapies including Yervoy, Opdivo, and Keytruda. Since its inception, Swim Across America has raised over $140M to fund the next generation of young investigators and physician scientists - pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer.
