Elliot's SAA Fundraising Page
I'm swimming because I love to swim and my Gramma Dorow, Grampa Dick, and Uncle Rick benefited from cancer treatments that others helped to fund. This is one way I can help others who might get cancer in the future.
Last year I swam a 1/2 mile and raised over $3000 to fight cancer. This year I'm swimming twice as far (1 mile) and hope to raise even more funds than last year!
My Uncle Rick continues to be in good health while undergoing treatment with pembrolizumab (Keytruda), a ground-breaking immunotherapy drug that received early funding from Swim Across America. Rick and his wife Jess have been volunteering for SAA since 2012 - long before Rick was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer in 2018. You can read all about the unremarkable connection between Uncle Rick and SAA here.
I would be honored if you would join us by sponsoring my swim. You can make a credit card donation by clicking on the "DONATE NOW" button shown in the right sidebar of this page, or you can send a check to Swim Across America - Boston, c/o Jamie Mannion, PO Box 206, 300 Broadway Lbby, Revere, MA 02151. Note: Check should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning my name as the swimmer you are supporting!
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
Thank you for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer.
