Team Sousa was created in 2023 by my brother, Dalton Sousa, after our mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I have decided to join Team Sousa in this years swim at Castle Island. My mom, Toni Sousa, passed away December 4th 2023 after an 11 month battle of pancreatic cancer. She always taught me to give back and help those in need. Swim Across America gives me the opportunity to help support cancer research. Please consider donating and or joining Team Sousa for this years event. Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
