In Memory of Toni Sousa
On December 4th, 2024, Toni Sousa lost an 11-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Toni has left a legacy of hope giving back to every community she was a part of whether it was the swimming community, the town of Carver, or just a friend in need.
Toni Sousa's desire to help others is what will keep Team Sousa swimming until a cure has been found. We look forward to the years to come. We could not make such a big impact without the support of every swimmer, every donor, every neighbor, and every friend.
The Sousa family has always taught us to make the best out of a bad situation which is why we will continue to raise money for Swim Across America- Boston. The proceeds will go to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Mass General Hospital for Children Cancer Center for early-stage funding in clinical trials that may lead to breakthroughs that can save lives in our community.
If you are able to, please support Team Sousa by making a gift. I hope some of you will join me for this swim under Team Sousa as we make waves in the fight for cancer. We have set a lofty goal of $40000 dollars raised and 20 swimmers in the water.
Toni Sousa played a huge role as an official in New England Swimming, high school swimming, and collegiate swimming across MA. It only seems right to continue to honor her legacy by remaining committed to Swim Across America's mission.
Thank you for taking the time to read, donate, and/or join us in this swim. We are all in this together to help in the fight against cancer.
We appreciate every member of Team Sousa and their support to end cancer for good. See y'all August 10th!
