I previously joined Swim Across America because I believe in their mission to raise money for cancer research and want to help give more families hope. But in 2023, this mission became more personal with a diagnosis of Triple Negative Breast Cancer and learning I have the BRCA1 gene variant. Luckily, with the help of an excellent team of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and a fantastic partner, I had a complete pathological response to the chemotherapy and am now back in the water!
