For the fourth year in a row, I am raising money for Swim Across America - Charlotte. This coming Sunday, over 200 swimmers will jump in the water to Make Waves to Fight Cancer in our community. While I won't be among the swimmers, I will be on the shore working with the other 50+ volunteers who help make our event successful and, of course, cheering on the swimmers!

Working for Swim Across America and having the opportunity to go to these events, I often have the privilege of meeting participants who are swimming or volunteering in honor of their loved ones who have been impacted by cancer. I hear stories of devastation, stories of triumph, and ultimately, stories of hope. I carry these stories with me to each and every event. At Swim Across America, we fund cutting edge early stage cancer research and clinical trials that otherwise might not receive any funding. I am fundriasing for our Charlotte chapter where all the funds raised directly support Acute Myeloid Leukemia research being done at Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital. If you are able and feel inclined, I hope you will consider donating to my fundraiser and supporting our work at Swim Across America. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that every single person has been touched by cancer in some way. Help us change that. Help us eradicate this horrific disease so that no one has to hear those three words "you have cancer" and be scared, instead we can tell them, "there is hope".
