On October 6th at Camp Thunderbird on the sunny shores of Lake Wylie, SC my teammates and I will complete an open water mile swim to "Make Waves to Fight Cancer."
Swim Across America matters to us because we have all been touched by cancer. My sister in-law, Kim, is currently battling Triple Negative Breast Cancer, and we are doing our part to fund breakthrough research to defeat this disease.
Mecklenburg Swim Association Team "Out of My Box" is proud to celebrate its 8th year as a part of the SAA Family. SAA Charlotte raises funds for Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital for cancer research. In seven years, MSA Masters have raised over $350,000 for grassroots cancer research in the Charlotte area. Nationally, SAA has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
