MSA Team Out of My Box is proud to celebrate its 8th year as a part of the Swim Across America Family. Swim Across America Charlotte raises funds for Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital for cancer research. In seven years, MSA Masters have raised over $350,000 for grassroots cancer research in the Charlotte area. Our goals in 2024 are to build a team of 62 plus swimmers, to encourage teammates, new and old, to get a little out of their comfort zone by trying open water swimming for the first time or pushing themselves to conquer a new distance, and to continue our tradition of leading the Charlotte swimming community in fundraising for SAA.

SAA matters to us because we have all been touched by cancer, and it offers the opportunity to unite with the scientists at LCI and LCH to find a cure. For our friends, teammates, families, and colleagues, we want cancer defeated. The physicians and investigators at Levine are amazing and brilliant, but they need our support to fund the  breakthrough research. 

On October 6th at Camp Thunderbird on the sunny shores of Lake Wylie, MSA Team Out of My Box will "Make Waves to Fight Cancer." In addition to the open water swim, MSA Team out of my Box will also host their own pool swim for team members on a different date.  

SAA is a part of our team culture and allows us to make a meaningful contribution to our community and beyond, while honoring our individual connections to cancer.
