Join Me in the Fight Against Cancer: Sponsor My Swim
In 2012, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. It felt like getting hit with a bag of bricks. Despite the shock and fear, I was extremely lucky. The type of cancer I had had an exceptionally high cure rate. But the prospect of losing one of the family jewels was daunting. After my orchiectomy, I went through a period of deep depression.
Radiation therapy was a grueling process. One of my worst fears was never experiencing fatherhood, thinking I might be relegated to being an uncle forever. However, during radiation, I met incredible people who inspired me. Men three times my age were enduring four times the amount of radiation I was, yet they faced it with high spirits and unwavering grit. Their strength was a beacon of hope for me.
After completing radiation and recuperating, I was blessed with two beautiful boys. I am incredibly fortunate. Not everyone is as lucky as I was.
This year, I am swimming for all those who have lost their loved ones, in the hope that we can find a cure for this devastating disease. Hopefully, we can help find treatments that ease the suffering of those diagnosed with this horrible disease and their loved ones.
Please support me by sponsoring my swim. Your generous contributions will go towards cancer research, prevention, and treatment, making a significant impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us move towards a cancer-free world.
