Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care. The Chicago Open Water directly supports early-stage research and clinical trials for a variety of cancer types at the Swim Across America Lab at Rush University Medical Center.

Since 2013, I have proudly participated in Swim Across America to honor and support those impacted by cancer. I swim for my mom, grandmother, aunts, uncles, and friends, and I will continue to swim in support of finding a cure.
