Here is my WHY
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
If you've found yourself on this page - THANK YOU! I am a physical therapist who specializes in oncology/hematology in the inpatient hospital setting at Rush University Medical Center. Over the last five years I have found a deep rooted passion for empowering those undergoing cancer care to continue to move their bodies through physical activity and exercise so that they can continue to do all that sparks joy. I have had the opportunity to meet and be apart of journeys of so many incredible patients and their families. I am passionate about fundraising so that the professionals who work in cancer care research and labs are able to develop innovative treatments to heal our patients at a cellular level, so that I have the opportunity to assist in healing them physically; we are all working together to fight the same fight.
I joined Swim Across America because I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope. If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you for helping me (and my brother, Nick, we are swimming together!) #MakeWavesToFightCancer, and helping all the patients I take care of at Rush University Medical Center.
