Hello friends.
For the 14th consecutive year, I am involved with a significant fundraise for Swim Across America to fight cancer. My dad, Richard, lost his fight with Acute Myloid Leukemia in December. My wife, Michele, successfully fought a brain tumor diagnosed at age 16. My long-time friends, Rob & Janice Jones, lost their battles with lung & pancreatic cancer in the last few years. I know it's not only me - we all know someone, probably in our family, who has had cancer.
On September 14th, I'm doing something about it. I'll do a 1-mile open-water swim in Lake Ray Hubbard with hundreds of other swimmers. We'll be raising money for the Innovative Clinical Trials Center inside the Baylor Sammons Cancer Hospital, where cutting edge new therapies, including cancer vaccines, give hope to patients fighting the odds.
I would love for you to join us in the water or as a volunteer – it’s a really great experience. They have a half-mile, one mile, and two mile option. If you can't join me or swimming's not your thing, I would very much appreciate a contribution to the cause.
Every single dollar donated goes to the Stage 1 Clinical Trials research center of Baylor's new Sammons Cancer Center. It’s a unique opportunity to give to a local cause – one we (or someone we know) will probably benefit from at some point.
Will you help save the lives of others fighting cancer now?
