Attention Friends old and new…July 8th I have committed to race in the Detroit River to support the Swim Across America Making Waves To Fight Cancer.

This year is a special year for me. It has been 21 years since I beat my challenge with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I am asking everyone to donate a night on the town to celebrate and help me raise funds to be applied for Cancer research. Swim Across America uses funds raised for ALL cancer research (Breast, Prostate, Lung, Pancreatic, Lymphoma, Rectal, Colon, etc.). In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. Think about those stats. We have to ensure all those people become survivors.

I was a young 29-year-old when I was told that I was positive with Cancer and that if not treated I would be dead within 5 years. Every yearly physically I go in nervous. I do not want to go through that challenging experience again. I do not want my family, friends and loved ones to experience that challenge. We all have friends and loved ones who have, who are, or who will experience Cancer. Please consider giving up one night on the town to help me raise funds to go to Cancer research that may just make that experience less dangerous for all of us.

June 9, 2022—The New England Journal of Medicine published a paper on June 5 that 12 patients completed a phase 2 clinical trial for advanced rectal cancer and showed a 100% clinical complete response to dostarlimab, an immunotherapy treatment produced by GlaxoSmithKline. The clinical trial was conducted at Memorial Sloan Kettering with early-stage grant funding from Swim Across America.
