Having lost my father (brain tumor) and more recently, my brother Tom (lung cancer) and a good friend Steve E. (pancreatic cancer), I know firsthand just how devastating cancer can be on an individual and their family.  This year, being inspired by Kara Herzfeld and her family, I decided to do something proactive and participate in the Motor City Mile Swim Across America event to raise money for cancer research.

I joined Swim Across America because I believe in their mission and want to help give hope to more families. If you are able, please consider making a donation to this very worthwhile cause.
