Welcome to Peter's Personal Page
This is my friend, Nancy Carr, who is the Event Director for Swim Across America - Fairfield County. Nancy was recently diagnosed with a GI cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. My brother-in-law, David Gulliver, is going through cancer treatment for lung cancer and has asked for our prayers. Ten-year-old Katie Kennedy, daughter of my friends Mike and Courtney Kennedy, is going through her second fight with a bone cancer which came back after four years of being cancer free. My friends Mike Harris and Bill Kelly both just passed away from cancer in June.
I am swimming three miles in Long Island Sound on June 29th for Swim Across America - Fairfield County in their honor and their memory and I know that my fourteen years of swimming in this event and raising money for cancer research is helping others.
This swim is for the benefit of the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy in Stamford, CT which funds some of the world's best cancer researchers and scientists around the country. They are making great progress in their research and their results are what is helping to keep others alive today.
I am leading Team Julian once again to continue the legacy of Julian Fraser, a wonderful young man and a close family friend who lost his battle with osteosarcoma in 2017 at age 20. Julian's legacy is being preserved through this team of dedicated friends, swimmers, and fundraisers, and as long as I am able, I will swim and raise money in Julian's memory, and for our family and friends who are fighting the battle, or who have lost the battle with cancer.
Would you please join me in supporting and honoring our friends as we make waves to fight cancer?
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming three miles in the Fairfield County Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure.
You can make a credit card donation in the link on this page, or you can send a check payable to Swim Across America, PO Box 681, Riverside, CT 06878.
Thank you for your generosity and may it help lead to a cancer-free world!
