Welcome to My Personal Page
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
I joined Swim Across America in 2022 because I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope. An estimated 40% of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. My aunt (Kimberly Lawrence-Netter), cousin (Diane Darst), granddad (Richard Lawrence), and my 5th grade Math/Science teacher (Ms. Green) all died from cancer, and this year my close friend's mom was diagnosed, Meanwhile, National Cancer Institute funding for investigative research and clinical trials has decreased 25% in the past 10 years. This Swim Across America Fairfield is so important because it raises money that goes to cancer researchers conducting early-stage research and clinical trials using innovative gene and cell therapies. These researchers are the next generation of cancer pioneers, but without funding from Swim Across America Fairfield and the Alliance for Gene Cancer Therapy they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs and lifesaving therapies.
If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal and help "Make Waves" in the fight against cancer."
Thank you,
Graham Lawrence
