Dear friends and family, 

           My name is Kate Chesley and I am swimming the mile and a half for Swim Across America this Saturday. This will be my fourth open water swim, my third time participating in a swim with Swim Across America. I will be swimming this with my Greenwich Marlins YMCA swim team. 

Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted many charity swims with the goal to raise money for innovative cancer research that could lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since 1987, Swim Across America has raised over $100M through their many events to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care. 

On a more personal level, I joined Swim Across America because I strongly believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope.
