My name is Oliver Garcia-Alonso, and I love to swim. I also never had the opportunity to meet my Grandpa, Michael Connelly, because he passed away from cancer before I was born. This year, I'm participating in Swim Across America for the first time by swimming a half mile open water swim with members of my YMCA of Greenwich Marlins Swim Team on June 29th. I'm really excited to have this experience!

Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
