Hi! I'm Alexia and I'm participating in Swim Across America for the first time this year. I'm swimming in memory of my Grandpa, Michael Connelly, who passed away from cancer before I was born. I am swimming a half mile in open water to raise money for cancer research along with members of my swim team, the YMCA of Greenwich Marlins.

Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
