Help Me Make Waves to Fight Cancer!
This year, I have decided to participate in Swim Across America to honor two very special people in my life.
My Aunt, Carla Salvi, lost her battle to cancer in 2003. Carla had a way of making everything fun. She had the unique ability to get you to smile regardless of the circumstance. I am lucky enough to see so much of her in her kids and now grandkids. I swim to honor all she has missed and also to remember the amazing person she was.
My friend, Cyndi Ryan lost her battle to cancer just this past July, 2023. Cyndi had the best sense of humor of anyone I have ever met. If you never heard Cyndi tell a story, you really missed out. Cyndi was also supportive in any way she could be. My self proclaimed "biggest fan", I swim to remember her always cheering me on, even from afar.
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
Thank you for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer.
