After a valiant 2 1/2 year battle against pancreatic cancer, my mom Alfia Livaccari passed away on October 2, 2023. She handled her illness with grace and kept a positive attitude virtually up until the end. Her attitude and resolve was a lesson for all who knew her. 

While modern medicine was not able to save her, I know that the continued research into find a cure is one of the most important things we can support. The researchers we are funding are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
