The Real IRONMAN
Dear Family and Friends.
I am grateful for my ability and love of swimming, thanks to my Dad! This photo of him was taken up in New Hampshire on Lake Wentworth, where the swimming seeds were planted. He was a true Ironman! Swimming to make an impact is fulfilling for me. Going the distance in the water is nothing in comparison to what my Dad and so many others have endured so bravely. I swim to help find a cure, celebrate the life of those who lost their battle and encourage others still fighting their courageous battle.
This past June, I swam across the English Channel. It was an incredible journey. Faith - Family - Friends made this possible. Life is Short. Jed lost his battle to cancer at the age of 53 and many others even younger than that. It's a sad statistic but we can all make a difference. Every swim, regardless of length, is meaningful, has purpose and can make an impact.
This year I will be swimming up in Lake Placid, NY. I am very excited to make some waves in Mirror Lake and swim the iconic Ironman course for a few loops! I will be thinking of my Dad and so many others who are like the IRONMAN! Faith – Family – Friends!
Coakley, my son, will be swimming in Long Island Sound on Saturday with my mom on shore. This makes me very happy that they will be part of the amazing Swim Across America community.
If you can, please support Team Jed by making a gift of any amount. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America Early-Stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives.
Finally, if you would like me to write the name of your loved one on my body for the swim, please text me - 914-912-4992. It helps inspire me! Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
Love, Team Jed
