Welcome to Carol Wolfe's Page
This will be my 11th year participating in Swim Across America, an excellent organization that raises money for cancer research and local support groups!
My first year, I swam for my mom, a survivor of non Hodgkin's lymphoma and is doing great; last year I swam for myself as I had recovered from surgery to remove a malignant melanoma. Over the years I have swam for many people close to me, Bernie, my mom's husband who unfortunately passed away due to cancer; Molly - a vibrant young woman who was diagnosed w Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia - and I'm happy to report she's doing amazing and just got married this past April! And others, my husband Larry, my cousin Mike, my friend Joan F, my dear friend Jodi, and more recently my cousin Sharon who bravely battled breast cancer and lastly, myself. I was diagnosed w melanoma a few years ago and luckily it was caught early.
Since it's inception, SAA has raised over $100 million dollars towards cancer research and local cancer support organizations.
I will be swimming on July 13th w Team Stanley at one of our teammates homes, Miles Rubin.
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
