Very soon somewhere between 800 and 900 people will swim distances ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 meters (6 miles!) because someone they know or love has been stricken with Cancer (my late father, Jerry, was one) and they know this act and the funds they are raising are making a real difference in the development of a whole new generation of therapies that work.

Swim Across America has stood out as a game changer in the fight against Cancer. Since our effort began in Westchester, the landmark discoveries and treatments developed have been truly game-changing. Memorial Sloan Kettering was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine for the development of Immunotherapy which they have shared with the world. But the concept of immunotherapy did not qualify for grant money and would not have proceeded to the development stage but for the funding from SAA - and donations from YOU.
