On Saturday, July 27, I will be waking up at 5 am to swim 2 kilometers on behalf of Team Regis. More importantly, however, I will be swimming for those affected by cancer, especially my grandmother––a stage 4 cancer survivor. I also swim for children affected by cancer, the cruelest form of the disease. I have had friends who have struggled with cancer––and one who was taken from us far too soon. All money you donate will go to local hospitals and clinics searching for cures.

Swim Across America has a place in my heart, as it has provided me with countless good memories over the years. My first swim came in 2016 at age 8. I swam a half mile that year and the next two years, until my friends convinced me to swim a mile one year. This year will be my first ever SAA open water swim.
