Swimming for Gigi
On Saturday, July 27th, I will be participating in the Swim Across America Long Island Sound open water swim for the 19th time to raise money for cancer research and treatment. In the 30 years since its inception, the Swim Across the Sound event has raised over 25 million dollars for cancer research and prevention.
This year I will swim with a heavy heart in memory of my daughter Pippa's friend and schoolmate, Gigi Favelukes. The utterly heartbreaking loss of Gigi is something that no family should ever have to endure. We will swim in her memory and remember her courageous spirit until there is a cure.
You can read more about brave, beautiful Gigi and her family on the Swimming For Gigi team page here:

Proceeds from the swim will support immunotherapy research at the Swim Across America Laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, pediatric oncology research at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian and patient services with Cancer Support Team.
So many of our lives have been directly affected by cancer and Swim Across America has made great strides to stamp out the disease once and for all. Please consider supporting my swim - any size donation is welcome and appreciated.
