In Honor of Adam Rubinson
On Saturday, July 27 I will be participating in Swim Across America's 2024 Long Island Sound open water swim in honor of my good friend, Adam Rubinson. Adam died just over one year ago from a particularly aggressive form of cancer. He was such a vital life force, so inspiring, so much fun, so worthy of respect and admiration, and a true renaissance man, that I still have trouble believing he's gone. This terrible disease took his life way too soon. My participation in this fundraising swim is just a small step in perhaps preventing cancer from taking another precious life, or sparing someone's friends and family from such a terrible loss.
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
I would be most appreciative of any support you would consider for this worthy gesture in honor of a good man.
