Why I Swim...
My friend and favorite exercise guru Meg invited me to join her Swim Across America team in honor of her upcoming big birthday. And how could anyone say no? Sure, the thought of open water swimming makes me shudder. But the reminder of all my loved ones and my loved one's loved ones who have faced cancer makes me opt to get back in the water again.
So today begins my journey to 2K, one lap at a time.
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
On July 27th, I've agreed to swim a 2K in the Long Island Sound for all the people we've lost and my dear friends who've been saved thanks to amazing cutting-edge cancer research.
If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you for the support and for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer.
