SUPPORT TEAM GINA!
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
Gina Mannix and I were lifelong friends - we met as young childhood swimmers at Iona Gaels, and our swim journey continued as competitors during the summer swimming months (Larchmont Shore Club + New York Athletic Club) and as teammates during our high school years at Badger Swim Club.
Tragically, Gina lost her short and aggressive battle with cancer on February 26th, 2024. Gina and her family have been avid participants in Swim Across America, and this year I am dedicating my swim in her memory and honor. By raising funds for cancer research and support, I hope to contribute in the aid to fight against this illness.
I joined Swim Across America because I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope. If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer.
