Hi, my name is Rayed Ulislam. The Long Island Sound Open Water Swim will mark my first swim for Swim Across America. I have a great passion for swimming and swim for YFD Swimming Club in NYC. I have swam in numerous competitions in long and short course pools, but have never swam in open water. 

As many as 20 million people are forced to fight cancer every year. The survival rate is only around 60%. In the US, we have access to the best treatment in the world unlike a number of third-world countries which do not have access to the treatment that we have. Some of these countries have a less than 50% chance that their citizens will win the battle over cancer. Donate to support my campaign and help fight cancer.

Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
