I've been practicing and swam 0.9miles yesterday with friends.  I think I am ready for my mile.

I am on a team now! I have continued to teach Nantucket Adult Learn to Swim and they are my team. It is a fabulous program and I have met so many wonderful people. It combines two of my favorite things- swimming and teaching. This year I will swim my mile "virtually" meaning I will do the mile swim but at a different time.  I won't be on island on July 27th.  BUT my teammates will be here and your support for me and SAA is so valuable.

Proceeds directly support  Nantucket Cottage Hospital's oncology program which brings world-class oncology services to Nantucket, allowing patients to access much of their cancer care close to home, without the cost and stressful burden of off-island travel.  Many of these cancer services are performed in the new state of the art Swim Across America Infusion Center.   Similarly, SAA - Nantucket funding that supports Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket allows them to provide direct care and services on the island to patients and families who are coping with cancer, free of charge.
