Me and my girls are swimming in Nantucket’s open water Swim Across America Fundraiser Event on July 27.  This is a direct fundraiser for Nantucket Cottage Hospital (NCH), Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket (PASCON) and Mass Generals Cancer care center.  These groups bring in world class doctors and care to Nantucket’s residents and guests. Most importantly they allow patients to stay on island during treatments and if patients must go off island for Cancer treatments they help support these costly visits.  Being a local healthcare provider on the island, I’ve seen the direct impact of these organization on many Island families.  

This year we are swimming with team Nantucket Cottage Hospital and PASCON.

Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
