Hi there, Phil Wattles here. I'm looking for your help once again
This year I’m telling my story ! Prostate cancer if found early is an easy fix. In 2016 at a yearly physical I was told my PSA was very high and I was sent to Boston to see an oncologist. His first remark was “ I can’t believe he missed this. I’m pretty sure you have cancer .”
I signed up for the patient site and was able to see the communication between Boston and my PCP on Nantucket. I noticed that my PSA was elevated in 2013 and no one had said a word to me about this . I called my doctor’s office and asked what my PSA was in 2014 and 2015. The answer was sorry we didn’t check it. So I had arrived in Boston on my first visit with stage 4 prostate cancer. My PSA was 22.
So I’m still here . Radiation, hormone shots and pills for 7 years and chemotherapy last winter now I’m injected with radiation every 6 weeks. Please take from me . BE PROACTIVE ! Staying on top of all this is like a part time job.
So once again I am giving back to PASCON at Nantucket Cottage Hospital and I home you will help once again .
Peace
Phil.
