Unfortunately, most people who are reading this message have battled cancer or are very close to someone who has.  The donations that are raised through Swim Across America allow scientists to perform exploratory studies that traditional grants don't cover.  These early-stage efforts have made major differences in treatments, and in saving lives.

I will be swimiming in honor of my Mom who lost her long battle with cancer in 2022.  While cancer ultimately won, thanks to science, my Mom had a quality 10+ years of living after her diagnosis.  I'm also swimming for my good friend Derrick Edwin who has been fighting cancer since December 2021.

Our team met with the research team at Cold Spring Harbor Labs who taught us how much Swim Across America has done for their work.  Hearing from them got me excited to help and I hope you will consider helping too.
