Dear Friends & Family,

Welcome to my 2024 Sound to Cove Swim Across America Home Page.  This my 13th year participating in this event and I’m asking for your support to help me reach my goal of $5K!  

The Sound to the Cove annual Swim Across America event has raised over $12M since its inception in 2001 and has helped support some of the most dedicated and renowned beneficiaries in the world of cancer research, treatment, and prevention.  They include Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Cold Spring Harbor Lab, The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital (The Stacey Leondis Fellowship), The Feinstein Institute at North Shore LIJ, and SHARE Cancer Support.  The team at SAA Nassau/Suffolk Long Island is an all-volunteer team, dedicated to maximizing the direct donations to our beneficiaries. Since our start, over 81% of every dollar raised goes directly to the cause… That is truly world-class.

This year, I will be swimming 1/2 mile on "Team Amphenol" in memory of my Uncle, John Licari, and my sister-in-law, Dorothy Mulzoff.  John lost his battle with Glioblastoma, a very aggressive brain cancer/tumor, in December of 2013.  John was an inspiration to me and also my fishing buddy...so is greatly missed.  Dorothy lost her battle with breast cancer in April of 2008 at the young age of 49.  Dorothy was taken from us too early and is also greatly missed.  

The two very important people mentioned above are the reasons why I swim and will continue to swim until a cure to Cancer is found.
