In honor, in memory, in pursuit of a cure
This is my 12th year swimming with Team Stacey (albeit from a distance now, a pool in California).
In college, bright-eyed and ready to take on the world, Stacey and I used to talk for hours about the gaps in the medical system, brainstorming solutions. We shared a sense of optimism for the future, a confidence that we would make a difference. She showed me a truth that I have seen played out over and over again: even when a return to health is not possible, the potential to heal remains.
On the best and toughest days, I continue to draw inspiration and strength from Stacey, and I look forward to joining her friends and family, along with Swim Across America, to raise funds to support community cancer resources, research, and patient support programs.
There is a lot in this world that doesn't make sense. In tough times, the things that bring us together (love, family, friends, memories of good times spent together) are all the more important. “Cautiously Optimistic” is a term Stacey and I talked about (it resonated with both of us), and I often use it to this day.
Please support me by sponsoring our team and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment, and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
Thank you for your support!!
