2022 was my inaugural year on Team Carolyn when I swam one (1) mile in honor of all lives touched, changed, and challenged by cancer.

I'm writing today to ask for your support for Team Carolyn and Swim Across America — an amazing organization which hosts charity swims that fund cancer research and patient programs.

On Sunday, July 30th, I will swim three (3) miles in the open water—swimming with my dear friend and triathlon teammate, Derrick in mind and heart (pictured with me at his 41st chemotherapy treatment & in a 2021 race).

Derrick continues to fight a battle with stage 4 colon cancer. His daily strength, perseverance, and resilience in his fight, awe me. He reminds me that there is always a way to keep going and his refusal to give up on himself has fortified my belief in giving and gratitude.
