Update on my activity goal as of 7/31- I've completed 138.5 miles out of 150, deadline 8/3. I need to get moving these next few days. Thank you again to those who have donated!
I would love to do the open water swim, but for my first year participating in this event, I am staying on land! Swimming in open water intimidates me... but I still wanted to participate and support this great cause. I have a goal of walking or running, on a treadmill or on outdoor trails, 150 miles from the time I joined this event on May 6th to the time of the swim event on August 3rd. We have all been impacted by this terrible disease some way in our lives, unfortunately. My aunt is living cancer free after a hard fought battle several years ago. And, both of my paternal grandparents died of cancer. My grandfather was young, 66, when he lost his battle to cancer. At the time, my dad was younger than I am now. My nana was 86 when she died- she was the only one of my grandparents who met my kids, and I am so grateful for that. But honestly if it hadn't been for the cancer she may have lived forever.
If you can support me or Team Amphenol by making a donation in the fight against cancer, that would be amazing. Any amount is appreciated! The funds go directly to cancer research and to patients currently fighting the disease. Our team captain, Dan Kennedy, has participated in this event for 12 years, and brought the swim to Amphenol last year. Amphenol is our corporate sponsor, so ALL donations made by friends, family and colleagues go directly to the cause! I am asking you to please make a secure online donation (using the blue DONATE NOW button toward the top right of this page) and help me "Make Waves in the Fight Against Cancer"!
Thank you!!
Ryan
