In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.  Our team and program have been directly affected by cancer. Even within my own direct swimming community, many swimmers and divers alike have fought cancer. I swim for Keri Clery, Janis Hape Dowd, Emily Grund, Sammi Jo Porter, and Sue Walsh.  Our team swims in honor of these individuals and all others touched by cancer as we fundraise to discover how to overcome this terrible disease and the impact it has on our lives. 

This will be my 6th swim with Swim Across America. Swim Across America is an amazing organization that raises money to fight cancer and keeps the funds raised within each community. Last year, our event raised over $132,000 for cancer research happening on campus at UNC Chapel Hill. Please help us raise even more money this year!
