Cancer has impacted my family greatly over the last few years. This is my third year raising money for cancer research with Swim Across America. In 2022 and 2023, I swam in memory of Alan Meehan, my grandpa, who died from stage-4 bowel cancer in February 2020. Then, in late 2023, my mom was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer and became one of the 1 in 8 women to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
