Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care. 

I joined Swim Across America because I believe in their mission and want  to help give more families hope. When I was nine years old my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. The horrors and hopelessness which plagued my mind, spirit, and body are pains I wish no child should endure. The seemingly endless journey families embark on as they witness their loved ones suffer through the terrors of cancer should be eradicated from society. The branches of treatment and recovery hinder all glimpses of light and prosperity. I would never wish for anyone to have to go through what me and millions of other families have endured or are enduring.
