Welcome to Pam's page!
As Board Chair of Swim Across America, I am humbled and proud to be a part of this impactful organization. I am lucky to have the opportunity to visit many of the doctors and cancer centers we support and know we are making a real difference in early stage cancer research. The funds we raise in each community stay local and I am excited to be a part of the first swim in Louisville to benefit the Brown Cancer Center and UofL Health. Swim Across America hosts 24 Swims across the Nation and as a Louisville Native, I am so proud to be a part of this inaugural event.
I swim each year to honor and remember my friends who have battled and are battling cancer and to honor their loving families. Each year I pray to not know any new friends that have been diagnosed with this terrible disease, but unfortunately this is never the case. This year I am swimming to honor my Mom, Aunt Susie, Fraser, Simon, Rick, Pete, Ben, and Amy and in memory of our dearest family friends Irwin and Ady who passed away last year. I am also swimming in memory of our dear friends and swimming buddies Steve and Eddie who loved swimming in the Boston Harbor for Swim Across America.
I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change the future for these dear friends and many more. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
With so much gratitude,
Pam
